It's with great pleasure I send this message to the web site of Sri Sangamitta Balika Vidyalaya Colombo 10.
Our school is one of the leading primary girl’s schools in Sri Lanka and it has won many local and international awards. It was the first school to win the ISO 9001- 2008 which is a greatly recognized international award. Our students have shown high potentials in education as well as in other extracurricular activities.
As an era has come in which the present generation of students faces new and more complex challenges, it is expected to strengthen our aims and objectives accordingly in future. Therefore, with a new vision and mission, we hope to achieve our goals with priority given to education. New methodologies will be implemented to uplift the educational standards in every section of the school curriculum. It is also hoped to inculcate balanced attitudes in our students through aesthetics and sports in a shade of the Buddhist religious environment. All possible measures will be taken to promote our cultural values and the school culture too will be shaped accordingly. It should not be forgotten that we have stepped into the 21st century which is an era of science and technology. We consider it is a must to develop such technological skills in our students.
We look forward to celebrate the 125th anniversary of our school in the year 2015 with the accomplishment of these objectives and finally our aim is to present our motherland with a set of students with balanced and capable personalities.
I hope Sangamitta Balika Vidyalaya will shine among the schools In Sri Lanka reaching its highest standards in the field of education.
